Role Description We are currently recruiting for a Head of Capital Markets who will be responsible for managing banking and depository relationships as well as sourcing debt for Pembrook’s balance sheet and senior mortgage loan investments.  This professional will also be responsible for originating senior first mortgage bridge loans, preferred equity and mezzanine investments on multifamily and affordable housing for various Pembrook private equity investment funds. This critical member of the Pembrook senior management team will be based in our New York City headquarters. This role is responsible for overseeing all capital markets activities, including sourcing, structuring, and executing financings and other capital solutions to support the firm’s investment strategies and portfolio growth. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing relationships with lenders, brokers, investors, and other counterparties, as well as leading negotiations, term sheet development, and transaction execution. The Head of Capital Markets will collaborate closely with the investments, finance, risk, and legal teams to optimize capital structures, funding costs, and liquidity, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and investor requirements. The role also includes monitoring market trends, identifying new product and funding opportunities, presenting capital markets updates to senior leadership, and mentoring team members to build a high-performing function.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and serve as a critical team member in maintaining and growing all of Pembrook’s depository banking relationships. 
\n

\n

\n
• Oversee and serve as the primary relationship point of contact with all financing sources related to manager and fund level borrowings. 
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Maintaining and developing new relationships with various capital sources and understanding their credit preferences and market terms and conditions. Capital sources may include banks, debt funds, private lenders, CMBS and insurance companies.

• Working closely with the brokerage community while growing and enhancing the Firm’s capital markets reach and reputation.
\n

\n

\n
• Preparing initial underwriting, offering memorandums and marketing materials for all financing requests as well as screening and qualifying all received loan terms and lenders.
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Manage and oversee, in conjunction with counsel, all drafting and negotiation of loan documentation. 
\n

\n

\n

\n
• Upon committee approval of accepted terms, screen, manage and oversee all lender due diligence requests in timely fashion ensuring prompt and expeditious closings.
\n

• Serve as a valuable member of the Firm’s origination team with focus on securing senior first mortgage bridge loans, preferred equity and mezzanine loan opportunities consistent with the Firm’s affordable and multifamily housing business model.

Pembrook offers a competitive base salary and bonus. The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the annual review process.
