Nurse Practitioner

Role Description The Nurse Practitioner Clinical position at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is a full-time outpatient specialty care role supporting the Nephrology service within the Department of Medicine. The provider would be responsible for managing patients with chronic and complex kidney-related conditions, conducting patient evaluations and follow-up appointments, developing treatment plans, coordinating specialty care, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, educating patients on disease management, and collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary medical teams. The role is within a large military treatment facility environment serving active duty service members, retirees, and dependents, and requires strong clinical judgment, professionalism, documentation skills, and the ability to function independently in a fast‑paced specialty clinic setting. Qualifications Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program recognized by ACEN or CCNE. Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license. National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through ANCC, AANP, or another nationally recognized certifying body appropriate to the specialty area. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to meet military credentialing and privileging requirements. Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification. Experience providing care to military personnel and their families is preferred. Clinical competency sufficient to independently function as a Nurse Practitioner within the assigned specialty clinic environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr GiaCare
