Quality Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTIONKey ResponsibilitiesQuality Systems & Compliance• Ensure compliance with BOS, ISO/TS 16949, IATF requirements, and customespecific standards.• Understand plant and customer KPIs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet or exceed targets.• Participate in Layered Process Audits (LPA) as requiredContinuous Improvement• Drive continuous improvement across all production quality deliverables• Support advancement of Operation Description Sheets (ODS)• Identify and apply appropriate statistical tools; mentor team members on their proper use.Advanced Quality Planning & Documentation• Support PPAP preparation and submission• Obtain internal approvals prior to customer submission• Develop and maintain: Control PlansPFMEA (with Manufacturing Engineering support)Inspection and containment plans• Complete all customer-specific Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements.Customer Interface & Issue Resolution• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers regarding quality concerns• Communicate effectively between customers and plant operations• Visit customer sites as needed• Initiate and manage Quality Alerts through closure• Analyze returned materials and ensure root cause identification and corrective action implementation.Problem Solving & Corrective Actions• Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes• Prepare and submit 8D reports to customers in a timely manner• Conduct capability studies and ensure compliance with customer and internal requirementsSupplier & Quality Documentation• Ensure proper preparation and submission of required documentation, including: Part Submission Warrant (PSW)Design records (drawings, specifications, materials)Process flow diagramsPFMEAControl plansDimensional results and sample submissionsSystems & Tools• Utilize customer-specific systems and reporting tools• Maintain accurate records and documentation for quality processesQualificationsEducation• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experienceExperience• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering or related role• At least 2 years of automotive industry experience required• Seating experience is a strong plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of:ISO/TS 16949 / IATF standardsPPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans8D problem-solving methodologyContinuous improvement methodologies• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills• Ability to work cross-functionally and manage customer relationshipsCertifications (Preferred)• Lean Certification• Problem-Solving Certification• Kaizen CertificationWork Schedule• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PPRIMARY LOCATIONBridgewater Interiors IIISummaryLocation: Eastaboga, ALType: Full time
