Key Responsibilities: Perform underwriting tasks as determined by the supervising underwriter, including new/renewal business screening, renewal and endorsement underwriting, and referring exceptions to the supervising underwriter. Refer business beyond delegated authority to supervising underwriter. Manage diaries and follow-ups for information on accounts. Provide assistance to Loss Control and audit reports. Rate new and renewal applications as required. Perform other underwriting and agent and customer management duties as requested. Ability to interact with colleagues, agents, and customers in a professional manner. Job Requirements: High School degree or equivalent required - some college education, a plus. One year insurance company underwriting or comparable insurance experience preferred. Pursuit of CPCU, CIC or other applicable designations preferred but not required. Proficient in MS Office Software applications. Ability to Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. Good organizational and time management skills required. Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks. Insurance Agent license or certification strongly preferred. Minimum 3 years of commercial surety experience preferred. Minimum 3 years of Microsoft Excel experience preferred.
