Physician Assistant (PA) - Urgent Care

Job Details:

• Provide urgent care coverage across multiple locations in the Richmond, VA area, 3 days per week
• Clinics operate 7 days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM with 12-hour shifts, expected to see all patients who arrive during hours of operation
• 100% outpatient practice setting with a patient population ranging from birth to death
• Average patient volume ranges from 25 to 50 patients per day, with higher volume expected during cold and flu season
• Higher acuity cases will be referred to the emergency department or higher level of care
• Perform laceration repairs including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
• Conduct incision and drainage (I&D) procedures including packing, foreign body removal, minor burn management, and skin lesion care
• Provide orthopedic injury stabilization including splinting, casting, and joint reduction
• Interpret X-rays, EKGs, and point-of-care lab results including rapid strep, flu, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
• Perform epistaxis management including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery, cerumen impaction removal, and airway support including nebulizer treatments
• Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation
• Must be Board Certified with an active Virginia license, active BLS, and active DEA
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
• Local candidates only; no travel reimbursement available
