Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating, planning and posting original text and video content, managing posts and responding to followers, helping to develop and coordinate influence marketing campaigns and social media strategies and providing insights on performance for Adcom clients. This teammate will stay up to date with the latest digital marketing and social media trends and work closely with senior team members and account team members to apply marketing and social media best practices to campaigns, community management, content development, and reporting. This teammate should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company's views creatively. This teammate will handle our clients' social media presence, as well as help manage our own and look to optimize levels of web traffic and customer engagement.

This position requires a candidate who is motivated, organized, deadline-driven and outgoing, and who possesses strong writing capabilities. A strong understanding and experience with social media strategy and analytics, with experience in creating compelling content, is ideal.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement and help develop social media strategies, working in partnership with internal client teams and client partners.
• Create excellent organic and paid content that articulates various brand voices.
• Help measure progress toward client marketing goals and impact of clients' social media efforts.
• Provide comprehensive reporting and recommendations to clients based on the effectiveness of campaigns, content and overall strategy.
• Develop and manage editorial and content calendars.
• Help prepare and participate in client presentations.
• Collaborate with account teams to assess client needs and help in developing and executing program objectives.
• Monitor client social media channels and act as an advocate for partner brands using community management best practices to engage in dialogue and answer questions where appropriate.
• Conduct research for current clients and new business as required.
• Assist in new business pitches as required.
• Maintain communication across PR & Social Media team to ensure all members are apprised of client activity.
• Help develop influence marketing strategies and manage relationships with influence marketing partners.
• Stay up to date on the latest social media trends, best practices and digital technologies and share POV with internal teams and clients.
• Maintain a positive relationship between Adcom and clients.
• Provide support at in-person and virtual client events as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of social networking sites, social media tools and applications.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain the highest quality of work while meeting tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, to prioritize tasks and manage own time.
• Must be friendly, professional, organized and honest with a strong work ethic and desire for continuous improvement.

Credentials and Experience

• Two to four years of professional social media experience (agency work preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, etc.
• Experience in CPG and B2B social media marketing spaces desirable.
