Job Summary:As a medical coder, you will need to read patient charts to determine medical history, including diagnoses and treatments given. Based on these charts, you’ll use a set of established medical codes tin or to transcribe patient history into a type of “shorthand” that will be used by both health care providers and insurance companies.Job Responsibilities:Comply with legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practicesReading and analyzing patient recordsDetermining the correct codes for patient recordsUsing codes to bill insurance providersInteracting with physicians and assistants to ensure accuracyKeeping track of patient data over multiple visitsManaging detailed, specifically-coded informationMaintaining patient confidentiality and information securityConduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and preciseCollaborate with billing department to ensure all bills are satisfied in a timely mannerCommunicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputesContact physicians and other health care professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients with regard to coding procedureCertified Medical CoderExcellent typing skillsCommitment to high level of customer service #J-18808-Ljbffr
