Position Overview:

Texas Panhandle Centers is seeking a Certified Family Partner (1282) to deliver trauma-informed care and resources to parents/legally authorized representative (LAR) across Amarillo and the surrounding service area of the Texas Panhandle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful trauma-informed care language.
• Support, advocate, and act as a link to community resources as a peer advocate to other parents enrolled in TPC.
• Travel to regional locations in the Texas Panhandle to provide Family Partner services as needed.
• Assist in coordinating a monthly support group for families with mental health issues and teach parenting-related classes.
• Possess the knowledge of local resources, services, and support available to families living throughout the Texas Panhandle.
• Complete the Family Partner Certification within the first year of employment.
• Work flexible hours as needed.
• Adhere to TPC Business Code of Conduct and report concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised.

Qualifications & Credentials:

Education & Credentials (Required):

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work, OR a minimum of 8th grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by a qualifying score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE).
• 1 year of personal experience as a parent or LAR raising a child or youth (under 18) with serious emotional disturbance or mental illness
• 1 year of personal experience as a parent or LAR navigating a child-service system (e.g., mental health, juvenile justice, social security, or special education)
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
• At least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
• Experience teaching parenting classes or support groups
