Lab Supervisor - Hematology

Pay Range: $100,000 – $165,000 per year Work Schedule: 3rd Shift: Tuesday – Saturday 12:00am – 8:30am Job Responsibilities Supervise the day‑to‑day operations of the Department/Lab. Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner. Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel. Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage. Ensure all shifts are properly staffed. Research and resolve production errors while escalating when necessary. Engage in continuous process and service‑level improvements. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained through Quality Control. Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents. Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations. Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development. Perform bench work as needed to maintain proficiency and competency. Ensure all work complies with state and federal regulations. Administer and manage policies and procedures. Process and maintain payroll and personnel files. Perform administrative duties as needed. Requirements Associate’s degree or higher in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a non‑traditional Bachelor’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements. Minimum 4 years of experience as a Technologist/Technician. Previous supervisor/leadership experience highly preferred. Previous experience in hematology/urinalysis highly preferred. CA State CLS license. Generalist required. ASCP or AMT certification preferred. Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and relevant state regulations. Understanding of laboratory operations and policies. Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment. Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
