Architectural Drafter - Metalwork & Custom Furniture

Position Overview La Forge de Style US is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Drafter to join our team in South Hackensack, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing technical drawings for custom architectural elements, furniture, metalwork, or related fabrication projects. This role supports our production team by creating accurate shop drawings, fabrication details, and 3D models based on architectural and interior design documents. The successful candidate must be able to interpret architects' and designers' drawings and translate design intent into clear, precise fabrication documentation. Produce shop drawings, fabrication drawings, presentation drawings, and installation details based on architects' and designers' renderings, drawings, measurements, and specifications. Create 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software. Develop plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. Coordinate drawing revisions and incorporate feedback from designers, project managers, and clients. Identify missing information, design conflicts, or constructability issues and communicate them proactively. Maintain drawing accuracy and organization throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate closely with the fabrication team to ensure drawings are practical, accurate, and manufacturable. Qualifications Certificate, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Industrial Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field. 2–4 years of professional drafting experience. Experience with custom metalwork, furniture, millwork, cabinetry, or architectural fabrication projects preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Technical Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, or comparable 3D modeling software. Familiarity with shop drawings and construction documents. Understanding of metal fabrication processes is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with rendering or visualization software is a plus. Languages Fluent English (written and verbal) required. French language skills are a strong asset.
