Job Description - Breast Ultrasound Technologist (SAD007564) Breast Ultrasound Technologist - (SAD007564) Title: Breast Ultrasound Technologist Location: Saddleback Medical Center Department: Breast Center Shift: Days (8hr) Pay Rate: $53.00/hr Position Summary The Breast Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound imaging of the breast to obtain computer pictures that aid in the diagnosis of breast changes. The position involves technical duties using ultrasound equipment and supplies for all Breast Center patients, and clerical duties specific to the Breast Center service line. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Effectively explains the ultrasound procedure to patients, answering questions and providing tailored support as needed. Prepares patients, effectively utilizing tools and resources necessary to obtain clear ultrasound images for diagnosis/treatment. Utilizes all electronic systems and ultrasound equipment to capture images from every required angle or section. Discerns which still images to capture for diagnostic purposes and presents them to the physician. Maintains patients’ records and medical documentation accurately and in accordance with department and regulatory standards. Ensures proper sterilization of ultrasound equipment used on Breast Center patients to maintain a safe care environment. Maintains reliable attendance and punctuality. Follows company policies, procedures, and directives. Interacts in a positive and constructive manner. Prioritizes and multitasks effectively. Qualifications Work Experience 1 Year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist in an outpatient or Breast Center setting. Education/Licensure/Certification Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist certification required. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required. Graduate Certificate from an Ultrasound Program preferred.
