The Great Library Co. is seeking a Product Designer to help shape intuitive, user-centered experiences that support meaningful learning and discovery.
Position SummaryAs a Product Designer at The Great Library Co., you’ll translate customer needs and business goals into clear, polished product experiences. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and other partners to define design direction, iterate quickly, and ensure the final experience aligns with usability and accessibility expectations.
In this full-time onsite role in Mountain View, CA, you’ll contribute to end-to-end design—from early concept and research to interaction design and design handoff—while continuously refining your craft based on feedback and observed user outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesOwn design work across the product lifecycle, including discovery, concepting, prototyping, and refinement
Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate interaction and visual intent
Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and a high-quality implementation
Develop and present design rationale, incorporating user feedback, data, and iterative learnings
Maintain and evolve design standards to support consistency, usability, and accessibility
Demonstrated experience designing product experiences from problem definition through execution
Strong proficiency in interaction design, visual design principles, and usability-focused thinking
Ability to communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional partners
Experience producing design artifacts such as wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI
Commitment to user-centered design practices and continuous improvement
Experience working on products in fast-paced environments with iterative delivery
Familiarity with accessibility and inclusive design principles
Experience collaborating with researchers, product managers, and engineers in discovery and validation
A portfolio that reflects thoughtful design tradeoffs and measurable user impact
