Material Handling Operator - Forklift OperatorVerst Logistics Material Handling Operator - Forklift Operator Hebron, KY 2nd shift $19/hr, + $1 shift differential Monday through Friday Position Summary: Operate electric or propane powered material handling equipment to load and unload trucks and move inventory to a designated area within an automotive distribution environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment to move inventory, exercising care to position product on forks to avoid product damage.Follow specific instructions given by internal personnel regarding the movement of goods.Complete daily task paperwork accurately and entirely.Complete daily preventive maintenance check form on all equipment driven.Verify accuracy of product count and product information against shipping and receiving documents and check product for damage.Use RF gun or complete proper forms as required to maintain and update product quantities and locations for items shipped, received or moved.Comply with safety regulations governing the operation of the equipment.Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.Follow facility specific procedures regarding locking and releasing of trailers.Identify flaws/defects/knowledge of packing methods.Placing selected cases on a pallet and arrange them orderly to minimize product damage for safe delivery.Backs up Order Selectors as required.Picks and packs orders for shipments, assist with inventory location changes, and assists with staging products.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Perform cycle counts or verification of inventory quantities and locations.Train new employees on standard operating procedures.Job Specifications:High school diploma or equivalent, preferredMust acquire forklift certification upon hire; 3-5 years prior experience operating a forklift, preferredBasic reading and math skillsMust be computer literateDemonstrated problem solving abilities and attention to detailPrevious experience in an Automotive Distribution environment, preferredPrevious experience with Continuous Improvement Plans and Lean Manufacturing techniques, preferredFamiliarity with SOX Compliance Requirements and OSHA RegulationsFamiliarity with SDS/Hazmat Safety preferredMust be able to follow specific instructions thoroughly and accuratelyFrequently bending, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs. safely as requiredGood hand/eye coordination and motor skillsAble to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed due to customer requirementsEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
