Echocardiology Technician

Schedule Full time, days About the Role The Echocardiography Technician plays a key role in cardiac imaging, supporting diagnostic procedures and patient care through high‑quality echocardiograms in a hospital setting. Responsibilities Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Positions patient and performs imaging procedures. Analyzes results and identifies image quality issues. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures. Enters, transmits and reports scan results. Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs quality control procedures on equipment; troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Experience: 1 year of experience preferred. Licenses: Current Echo registry; must have ARDMS registry or be registry eligible; must have cardiac registry with 1 year of employment. Skills: Familiarity with organization and functions of hospital departments; leadership ability, integrity, and initiative; problem solving; stress handling; maintain harmonious relationships with nursing, medical staff, and hospital administration.
