Join us as we provide Life Changing Medicine to our community.Position: Full-Time Patient Care TechnicianDepartment: 5 East Annex Flex UnitLocation: UPMC PassavantShifts: 36 hours per week; rotating shiftsTitle and rate of pay will be determined based upon individual qualifications, experience, and education. The minimum hourly starting rates for each level are as follows:Care Attendant: $18.19Nursing Assistant: $18.59Patient Care Technician: $18.99Patient Care Technician, Senior: $19.19Responsibilities:Provide direct patient care under RN direction, including assisting with ADLs, procedures, and therapiesPerform core PCT responsibilities, including vital signs, point-of-care testing, telemetry application, specimen collection, bladder scans, EKGs, and basic dressingsAssist with unit and patient needs (e.g., responding to call lights, meal delivery, patient transport, and monitoring)Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment while following infection control and safety protocolsMonitor patients and report changes in condition or equipment issues promptlyDocument care accurately and complete clerical tasks as neededSupport unit operations by stocking supplies and assisting with department activitiesCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support coordinated careDemonstrate professionalism by building positive relationships, supporting team initiatives, and seeking opportunities for growth and developmentRespond to emergent situations and provide patient supervision or assistance as appropriateNote: All competencies must be achieved.
