Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter to perform both rough and finish carpentry on a variety of commercial construction projects, including office buildings, warehouses, hospitals, schools, retail spaces, and tenant fit-outs. In this role, you interpret blueprints, install framing systems, and complete interior and exterior carpentry work while consistently adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry work on commercial construction projects such as office buildings, warehouses, hospitals, schools, retail spaces, and tenant fit-outs.
• Complete commercial interior fit-outs and renovations, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
• Install doors and associated hardware accurately and securely in accordance with plans and manufacturer guidelines.
• Lay out and frame walls, ceilings, and other structural elements using steel stud and wood framing techniques.
• Read and interpret construction blueprints to plan and execute carpentry tasks efficiently and correctly.
• Install and repair drywall, including hanging, finishing, and related tasks on commercial projects.
• Construct and install acoustical ceilings and other interior finishes as required by project scope.
• Use hand and power tools, including pneumatic tools, safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, and assembling materials.
• Operate equipment such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts as needed to access work areas and move materials.
• Measure materials and layouts accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure precise installations.
• Perform rough carpentry tasks including framing, blocking, and backing to support doors, hardware, and other fixtures.
• Follow commercial building codes, safety standards, and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant jobsite.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle general labor tasks related to carpentry and construction activities.
• Identify and resolve on-site issues using strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality expectations.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of commercial carpentry experience preferred, including work on office, industrial, institutional, and retail projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and translate them into accurate layouts and installations.
• Experience with steel stud and wood stud framing in commercial environments.
• Proficiency in drywall installation and finishing for commercial construction.
• Experience installing acoustical ceilings and related interior finish systems.
• Strong finish carpentry skills, including detailed trim, doors, and hardware installation.
• Proficient use of hand tools such as hammers, tape measures, levels, and squares.
• Proficient use of power tools and pneumatic tools, including drills, saws, nail guns, and other carpentry equipment.
• Knowledge of commercial building codes and safety standards applicable to carpentry and construction work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work at heights when required, including on ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic issues with tools, equipment, and installations.
• Reliable transportation to and from jobsites to ensure consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Competence in blueprint reading and applying plans to field conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification preferred, demonstrating knowledge of construction safety practices.
• Experience working on commercial interior fit-outs and renovations.
• Background in commercial construction environments, including new builds and tenant improvements.
• Ability to operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts safely and in accordance with site procedures.
• Experience with metal stud framing and rough carpentry for walls, ceilings, and partitions.
• Familiarity with installation of doors and hardware in commercial settings.
• Comfort working with a wide range of hand and power tools used in carpentry and general construction.
• Strong general labor skills to support various phases of construction work.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, trades, and project teams.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
