Navigator
Found Village
Job Description
Career Opportunity: Navigator with Found Village in Cincinnati, OH
\n \n \nDo you believe young adults can build lives of stability and purpose with the right people beside them? Are you a steady, resourceful professional who can help someone navigate complex systems, recover from setbacks, and take ownership of their future? If so, we’d like to talk with you.
\n \nFound Village is seeking a Navigator to walk alongside young adults ages 19-25 as they take on the responsibilities of adulthood. You’ll build trusted relationships while helping each young adult create stability, pursue new opportunities, and become more independent. You won’t manage their lives for them, you’ll coach, equip, and encourage them to build the skills and support network they need to move forward.
\n \nResponsibilities:
\n- \n
- Help young adults secure and maintain housing, manage money, access healthcare and benefits, and navigate leases, insurance, appointments, and other adult responsibilities. \n
- Support job searches, career advancement, education, training, certifications, and college goals while connecting young adults with employers, mentors, and other opportunities. \n
- Help each young adult identify meaningful long-term goals and create practical, achievable plans to reach them. \n
- Teach young adults how systems work so they can confidently advocate for themselves and make informed decisions. \n
- Recognize risks early, help prevent challenges from becoming crises, and provide steady support when plans fall through. \n
- Balance encouragement with accountability while helping young adults regroup, problem-solve, and continue moving forward. \n
- Help young adults build healthy, lasting relationships with family, friends, coworkers, mentors, and community members. \n
- Develop collaborative relationships with employers, landlords, schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. \n
- Coach rather than direct, empower rather than rescue, and build independence rather than dependence. \n
- Keep commitments, communicate proactively, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold healthy professional boundaries. \n
Requirements:
\n- \n
- Experience in coaching, case management, workforce development, housing support, or direct work with young adults (required). \n
- Knowledge of employment, education, housing, benefits, healthcare, or financial-service systems—or the ability to learn quickly. \n
- A coaching mindset focused on helping people develop their own skills, confidence, and solutions. \n
- The ability to balance compassion with accountability and have honest, respectful conversations. \n
- Resourcefulness, persistence, and calm problem-solving when circumstances change. \n
- Strong relationship-building skills with employers, landlords, providers, and community partners. \n
- Initiative, self-awareness, adaptability, and openness to feedback. \n
Who thrives in this role:
\nYou are energized by helping people build independence and can remain steady when plans change. You approach setbacks as part of growth, bring both compassion and accountability to your work, and measure success by how well someone can eventually stand on their own. You are comfortable working with autonomy, collaborating with a team, and helping shape practices within a growing organization.
\n \nThis may not be the right fit if you prefer to fix problems for people, need quick results to stay motivated, or see setbacks as failure rather than part of the process.
\n \nWhat success looks like:
\nDuring your first 90 days, you’ll build trust and learn each young adult’s goals, strengths, support system, and current needs. You’ll demonstrate reliability through consistent follow-through and begin developing relationships with community partners.
\n \nWithin six months, the young adults you support will be actively working toward goals related to employment, education, housing, or finances. You’ll recognize potential concerns early and help them recover more quickly when setbacks occur.
\n \nOver time, success means young adults are maintaining greater stability, managing adult responsibilities with less assistance, making progress toward long-term goals, and building a dependable network beyond Found Village.
\n \nYoung adults should be able to say:
\n \n“My Navigator believes in me. My Navigator tells me the truth. My Navigator helped me figure it out—and now I can do it myself.”
\nThe real picture:
\n \nThis work is deeply relational, and progress is rarely linear. Some days, success may mean helping a young adult keep their housing after a difficult month. Other days, it may mean watching them independently handle a situation they once needed help navigating.
\n \nFound Village is a growing organization with evolving roles and systems. You’ll have meaningful autonomy, clear support, a collaborative team, and the opportunity to help shape how the organization grows. Finalists will spend time with the team to experience the work firsthand before an offer is made.
\n \nWhy Found Village?
\n \nEvery young person deserves a village—and that doesn’t end at 18.
\n \nEvery young adult has strengths, potential, and a future worth investing in. Turning 18 doesn’t mean someone suddenly has everything they need to navigate employment, housing, money, education, and healthcare alone.
\n \nFound Village provides the steady support young adults need while partnering with employers, housing providers, schools, and community organizations to help them build stable, independent lives.
\n \nOur values:
\nBoundless Hope: Every young person has strengths, potential, and a future worth investing in.
\n \nCourageous Love: We build relationships strong enough to encourage, challenge, and remain present during difficult moments.
\n \nSafe Place, Safe People: We create emotionally and physically safe relationships built on trust, dignity, and belonging.
\n \nCollaborative Community: Young adults are supported by an entire community—not just Found Village.
