Business Manager/Accountant Our client, a boutique professional services firm, is seeking a Business Manager/Accountant to support a portfolio of high-touch clients with day-to-day financial management and accounting services. Location San Rafael, CA. This position is primarily hybrid with schedule flexibility. Job Description This role offers broad exposure across budgeting, cash management, payroll, and client advisory work, with the opportunity to grow responsibilities over time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of client financial operations, including budgeting, cash receipts, and disbursements Support complex project-based accounting, including reconciliations and financial reporting Handle day-to-day business management activities such as bill pay and bookkeeping Prepare and review financial statements and client reports Perform cash management activities, including bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, and projections Process payroll and related filings, including payroll taxes and year-end reporting Coordinate with external parties such as advisors, vendors, and international counterparts as needed Supervise junior staff and assist with task prioritization and workflow management Organize, track, and manage multiple client deliverables and deadlines simultaneously Provide responsive, high-touch communication and support to clients and their teams Requirements 3+ years of experience in accounting, business management, or client-service–oriented finance roles Strong general ledger and transactional accounting knowledge Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and bookkeeping tools Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with minimal supervision Compensation Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs.
