About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong MS-Tele experience, prior neuro experience preferred Description: Registered Nurses are responsible for providing comprehensive patient care in a float pool capacity. Nurses are expected to float to various units within the designated zone. Travelers must obtain housing that allows for floating within a 60-mile radius. Schedules are released 4 to 6 weeks in advance, with two possible formats: scheduled at a single facility or Just-In-Time assignments. Nurses may float into various units, including general medical-surgical and telemetry, as well as specialized areas. There is a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on patient acuity. Designated charge nurses oversee unit operations and may take patient assignments if necessary. Nurses may encounter patients with diverse diagnoses, including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, and renal conditions. Common treatments may include titrating heparin and managing various drips. Weekend coverage requires 6-9 shifts in a 6-week schedule. Holiday coverage may be requested during assignment periods. All nurses are expected to be flexible and assist in filling gaps in permanent schedules. Requests for time off must be submitted prior to starting the assignment. Nurses are required to wear any color scrub. Common respiratory equipment is available for use on the unit. Nurses will receive 1-2 days of orientation with a preceptor. This role provides an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while supporting patient needs across multiple specialties.
