Job Summary The primary responsibility of the Cost Accountant is to ensure proper treatment of all financial activity associated with plant operations. Manage accurate cost analysis and reporting and provide insight to support informed decisions. This includes monitoring transactions associated with purchasing, production, inventory, and distribution. Duties / Responsibilities Ensure accurate records and documentation for inventory costing. Compile product costs, including direct labor, direct materials, and overhead. Lead planning, reporting, and analysis of standard product costing. Update standards when appropriate and identify potential impact. Drive continuous financial improvement and introduce process control as needed. Work closely and collaboratively across multi‑department teams to provide cost accounting support and resolve cost and inventory issues. Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs). Conduct account reconciliations and analysis, particularly focusing on inventory reconciliation and cost of goods sold. Investigate and report reasons behind significant variances, including review of PPV, revaluation, repairs, and scrap. Utilize ERP system to effectively manage and analyze data. Experience and Skills Advanced literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Knowledge of a fully integrated ERP system, preferred JDE. Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Large ERP experience, preferred JDE. 5 + years of cost accounting experience. Physical Requirements Standing: 15 to 40 %.
