Director, Customer & Consumer Insights

Role Description

The Director, Customer & Consumer Insights is responsible for leading and advancing the consumer insights function of AG1, ensuring that data-driven understanding of customers & consumers informs brand, growth, and product experiences across the organization. This role partners closely with Marketing, Growth, Product, and cross-functional teams to translate consumer understanding into strategic guidance that drives business impact across global markets and consumer experiences.

This role will lead brand and growth insights initiatives while also overseeing UX/UI research that informs the development and optimization of consumer experiences. In addition, the Director will provide strategic oversight to the New Product Development (NPD) consumer research, ensuring alignment with broader consumer trends, brand and business strategies.

The Director, Customer & Consumer Insights plays a critical role in shaping how the organization understands and responds to consumer needs. By leading brand, growth, and experience insights while overseeing NPD research, this role ensures that consumer understanding is consistently embedded across strategic initiatives and that insights serve as a trusted foundation for business decision-making.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in consumer insights, customer insights, UX research, market research, or related strategy-focused disciplines.
• Proven experience building and evolving insights functions, frameworks, or capabilities that influence strategic business decisions.
• Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments.
• Experience leading large-scale or multi-stakeholder research initiatives.
• Strong organizational leadership and operational excellence capabilities.
• Experience in DTC, wellness, healthcare, consumer products, subscription businesses, or high-growth environments preferred.
• Experience supporting global and multi-market insights initiatives.

Requirements

• Lead the Consumer Insights function and define the strategic roadmap for insights.
• Establish best-in-class research standards, frameworks, and tools.
• Ensure insights are integrated into key business decisions.
• Define the long-term vision and operating model for Consumer Insights at AG1.
• Identify emerging global consumer, cultural, category, and market trends.
• Ensure consumer insights strategies reflect regional, cultural, and market-specific dynamics.
• Drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders on insights priorities.
• Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior leadership.
• Lead all insights initiatives supporting brand strategy and performance tracking.
• Own and evolve the brand tracking program.
• Oversee all UX/UI research efforts.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Provide strategic oversight for New Product Development research initiatives.
• Build strong partnerships with Marketing, Growth, Product, and other teams.
• Communicate insights clearly and effectively to senior leadership.
• Maintain organization and operational effectiveness within the insights function.
• Mentor team members and foster a collaborative, high-performing insights culture.
