VP of Finance and Accounting

This is a hybrid role, with office locations in Dallas, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As Advantify's VP of Finance and Accounting, you will build and lead the company's financial planning and analysis function at exactly the moment it matters most. Our revenue is claims-driven and contingency-based, and you will own it end to end: forecasting revenue off sales projections and pipeline, claims pipeline, win rates, and award multiples, building the budgets and models that fund our growth, and giving leadership numbers they can trust to make big decisions. A note on where we are starting: today our accounting is basic bookkeeping and our models are early. That is the opportunity. You will take over the books, move us to accrual-basis GAAP with a revenue recognition approach built for contingency-fee economics, and make us audit-ready. This is a builder's seat for someone who wants one. You should bring real experience with complex, variable revenue models, a working fluency in healthcare economics or a similarly claims-driven business, and the instinct to modernize a finance function with AI while keeping the numbers airtight. In exchange, you get direct visibility with the CEO, a real hand in how Advantify plans and grows, and ownership of the numbers the whole company runs on. Responsibilities Own revenue forecasting: translate sales projections, sales pipeline, claims submitted, win rates, award multiples, and payment timing into accurate, defensible revenue projections Model contingency-fee revenue recognition: build models across the full claims lifecycle (filed → arbitrated → won → collected), accounting for timing lags between award and cash receipt Own the unit economics: case-level and cohort-level analysis of win rates, award multiples, and time-to-cash by payer, specialty, and client — these assumptions drive every number in the model. Maintain the company's revenue ramp models: incorporate onboarding timelines, claims volume ramp, and specialty/payer mix for new client accounts Own budgeting and FP&A: run the annual budgeting process and rolling forecast cadence across departmental budgets, headcount planning, and contribution margin by client and vertical Build the function AI-first: use AI across forecasting, reporting, reconciliation, and scenario planning, and be able to show specifically what it buys us over traditional methods Prepare board-ready reporting: monthly and quarterly financial packages, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards for the CEO and board Partner closely with Sales and Executive Leadership: convert pipeline data into rolling forecast updates and align financial planning with revenue goals, and build long-range forecasts that extend well beyond what the current pipeline can see Support pricing and contract structuring: model contingency rates, tiered revenue share, and MSA partner economics Support fundraising: own the model behind the raise, keep the data room diligence-ready, and partner with the CEO through investor conversations and financial due diligence Own cash flow forecasting: plan around the timing gap inherent to contingency-based revenue collection, with a live view of receivables from award through collection — what's been won, what's been billed, and what's actually hit the bank Own the accounting end to end: general ledger, a rebuilt chart of accounts, AR/AP, payroll coordination, and clean classification of every transaction — the books are yours Run the monthly close: deliver an accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement on a disciplined calendar, every month, without drama Own the finance systems stack: choose and implement what we run on — GL, billing and AR, planning, and the AI tooling layered across all of it Manage tax and compliance through our outside CPA firm: returns, state registrations as we hire across the country, and payroll and 1099 compliance Stand up the finance infrastructure: the processes and controls needed to scale the business well beyond where it is today Operate as the sole finance and accounting team member: do the modeling and analysis yourself first, and build out a team only as scale requires it if ever Collaborate cross-functionally: keep Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership aligned on financial realities and growth plans Qualifications 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A, budgeting, and forecasting leadership, plus hands‑on accounting ownership — you've run a close and produced GAAP financials yourself, not just reviewed them; VP‑level or strong Director‑level experience ready to step up Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field 5+ years of healthcare finance experience A track record with variable, contingency‑based, or claims‑driven revenue models: healthcare RCM, insurance recovery/subrogation, contingency legal, or similar Real accounting depth, CPA or equivalent strongly preferred: you know GAAP well enough to design revenue recognition for variable, contingency‑based revenue and defend it to an auditor AI‑native fluency: you use AI in your finance work every day, stay on top of how the best finance leaders are leveraging it, and can articulate specifically how you'd apply it here and what we gain versus traditional methods Advanced financial modeling skills: comfort building models from scratch, not just maintaining templates someone else built or requiring a team to do the work for you Healthcare industry fluency preferred: familiarity with claims, payers, reimbursement dynamics, or revenue cycle management Comfort operating with real autonomy in a fast‑moving, resource‑lean environment where you're building the playbook, not following one Demonstrated ability to partner with the CEO and Executive Leadership as a true strategic partner, not a downstream reporting function Strong executive presence: able to present financial narratives clearly to the CEO, board, and investors A bias toward aggressive, measurable action: you'd rather ship a working model and refine it than perfect a spreadsheet no one uses #J-18808-Ljbffr Advantify
