The Washington Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is looking for an attentive, driven, and detail-oriented Event Planner who thrives in fast‑paced environments and loves engaging with processes and best practices for planning, organizing, and hosting engaging conferences and events. The Event Planner will be a key player within the Court Education Services (CES) Operations team, providing seamless support for high‑impact education programs. You will work closely with the Education Operations Supervisor and Court Educators to plan, organize, and deliver meaningful education events, from cutting‑edge technology instruction to engaging online courses and polished in‑person events. Position Details Title: Event Planner (Court Education Assistant) Location: Olympia, Washington Employment: Full‑time, Project Salary: $58,392 – $76,608 per year (DOQ) Duration: Funded through June 30, 2027 Responsibilities Research and identify solutions, venues, tools, and processes to meet customer and program needs. Negotiate with vendors and industry partners and manage requisition steps including RFPs, contracts, and purchases. Create, edit, and manage communications for internal and external audiences, including event and meeting coordination through Outlook. Oversee registration and conference management systems for in‑person events, eLearning, webinars, and workshops. Track and manage budgets, billing, scholarships, education credits, and program data using Excel. Provide technical support for live events and facilitate professional webinar sessions in Zoom and Teams. Follow established CES operational processes while collaborating with leadership on improvements and completing additional duties as assigned. Perform other duties as signed. Qualifications Associate of Arts degree in Business or a related field. Four (4) years of administrative program support experience. Ability to travel up to one week at a time to support programs throughout the state. Preferred Experience & Skills Exceptional customer service, consultation, and educational support with strong communication, grammar, and writing skills. High technical aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft 365, LMS, CMS, conference‑management systems, and similar applications. Accurate budget and bookkeeping records and ability to follow and improve established process standards. Strong collaboration with coworkers, stakeholders, and participants, understanding of customer expectations. Analytical skills to recommend effective solutions with accurate estimates, timelines, objectives, and action plans. Prioritization, time management, and multitasking in a complex environment with keen attention to detail. Project management from inception through implementation, anticipating challenges, adjusting plans, and keeping stakeholders informed. Flexibility, adaptability, and a consistently positive approach to change and evolving priorities. The workweek may fluctuate depending on workload or agency needs. Overnight travel may be required and the position may be overtime eligible.
