Performance Test Driver

At Goodyear, the Performance Test Driver sits at the heart of turning innovation into real‑world performance. You will help shape the next generation of tires by combining hands‑on testing, advanced simulation, and expert driving evaluation to deliver the safety, quality, and driving experience our customers expect. Your work will directly influence product development decisions, protect the continuity of critical test operations, and strengthen the technical excellence that keeps Goodyear moving forward in a highly competitive industry. Responsibilities Execute scheduled tire performance tests (dry/wet stops, straight aquaplaning, Ride & Handling) including full preparation of vehicles, instrumentation, tire setups, and test conditions. Deliver timely, high‑quality test outputs by completing tests as scheduled and issuing accurate test reports within one day of execution. Ensure safety and process compliance by following all safety procedures, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting track monitoring and quality initiatives. Maintain test environment and documentation through updates to performance databases and development of procedures, work instructions, OBTs, and JRAs. Communicate technical findings by reporting tire behavior, test issues, and process observations to supervisors and requestors. Support cross‑functional and special projects such as PPI initiatives, remote testing coordination, expanding test capabilities, and preparation for events or operational activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Two or more years of progressive experience in mechanical or automotive engineering, focused on vehicle dynamics and control systems. Practical experience in signal processing, advanced instrumentation, and senior‑level installation or technical implementation. Performance or professional driving experience is preferred.
