Position Summary Develops, communicates, and leverages a strategic vision aligned with company market and local plans and tactics to direct the management team and hourly associates in facility operations merchandising and company direction. Provides supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly associates in a facility with challenges such as high turnover, significant engagement issues, inexperienced associates, and recruiting challenges in an experienced highly competitive market requiring ongoing and proactive recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring, succession planning, duty assignment, performance evaluation, recognition, and belonging mindset across multiple levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities Upholds the company’s Open Door Policy, meets with associates, and listens to concerns, researching issues and leveraging necessary resources for time‑sensitive requests. Reviews company policies and procedures, teaches and drives consistency in responsiveness, and resolves associate matters. Ensures compliance with company policies, anticipates and responds to challenging compliance issues, negotiates with federal, state, and local officials, holds hourly associates and managers accountable, analyzes reports, implements and monitors asset protection and safety controls, and maintains quality assurance standards. Oversees safety and operational reviews, develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies, and provides direction and guidance on executing company programs and strategic initiatives. Initiates, directs, and participates in community outreach programs, engages with media, and represents the company in external events. Drives the financial performance of the facility by ensuring sales and profit goals are achieved, analyzes key performance indicators, executes process improvements, and controls expenses to ensure they are indexed to sales. Interfaces with market teams to drive margins and increase sales, and develops plans to correct deficiencies in financial performance. Drives sales through merchandising, customer service approaches, pricing, inventory management, and merchandise presentation across store and academy formats. Ensures success of the Academy training environment and store standards, integrates Academy associates into leadership meetings, and engages trainees during their assignments. Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives, developing and implementing strategies, evaluating operational processes, and measuring outcomes. Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled workforce, supports mentorship and succession planning, and leverages talent to maximize business goals. Cultivates an environment of integrity and ethics, models Walmart values, and supports the Open Door Policy. Builds high‑performing teams, embraces diversity, and creates a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected. Acts with integrity, selflessly, and with consistent professionalism; supports sustainable initiatives and fosters a sense of belonging. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and potential region‑specific differentials. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years general management experience, including financial accountability, and 4 years’ experience supervising at least 50 nonexempt and at least 5 exempt associates/employees (performance management, mentoring, hiring, termination); OR 4 years general management experience, including financial accountability, and 4 years’ experience supervising at least 50 nonexempt and at least 5 exempt associates/employees (performance management, mentoring, hiring, termination). For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities that sell only ammunition, may require a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility. Successful completion of all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
