We are seeking a results-driven and operational Assistant Manager to join our team. This role bridges production management and retail operations, ensuring that high-quality food products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and delivered seamlessly to our retail customers. You will oversee daily production workflows, assist with retail/distribution operations, manage team performance, and uphold strict food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production Supervision

• Assist in overseeing daily food manufacturing operations, scheduling staff, and monitoring workflow to meet production quotas.
• Monitor product quality and inventory levels, ensuring proper batching, processing, packaging, and store delivery/display.
• Troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, equipment downtime, and supply chain delays to maintain smooth daily throughput.

Food Safety, Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Uphold strict food safety protocols, maintaining compliance with FDA, USDA, local health codes, and internal HACCP/GMP guidelines.
• Oversee sanitation routines, facility cleaning checklists, temperature monitoring, and product expiration tracking.
• Address quality assurance issues immediately, conducting inspections and maintaining batch log documentation.

Inventory, Cost Control & Logistics

• Manage stock control for raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods; conduct regular physical inventory counts.
• Minimize waste and shrink by enforcing proper FIFO (First-In, First-Out) stock rotation and recipe adherence.
• Coordinate incoming supplier shipments and outgoing retail orders.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of supervisory or assistant management experience in food manufacturing, food retail, commercial kitchen operations, or bakery/deli environments.
• Certifications: ServSafe Manager Certification (or equivalent food safety management certification) preferred.
• Knowledge: Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and health code regulations.
• Skills: Strong team leadership, communication, problem-solving, and basic inventory tracking software/POS proficiency.
• Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in varying temperature environments (coolers/kitchens), and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
