Location: Carson, CA Pay Rate: $18.85 per hour Shift: 2nd Shift

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Yard Clerk to support our overnight operations in Carson. This role is responsible for coordinating yard activities, maintaining accurate trailer and equipment inventories, and ensuring smooth communication between the warehouse, transportation teams, and drivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and track trailer movements in and out of the yard using yard management or warehouse systems.

• Maintain up-to-date yard inventory logs, ensuring all equipment is properly documented.

• Communicate with yard drivers, dispatch, and warehouse staff to support efficient trailer spotting and movement.

• Assign trailer doors and update system records accordingly.

• Perform regular yard checks to verify trailer status and placement.

• Assist with paperwork such as BOLs, inbound/outbound logs, and driver check-in documentation.

• Report any safety, security, or equipment issues to management promptly.

• Support general administrative tasks as needed during overnight operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations preferred.

• Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

• Basic computer skills; experience with WMS/YMS a plus.

• Ability to work overnight hours consistently.

• Must be able to walk the yard, work outdoors as needed, and perform light physical tasks.
