About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Telemetry Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of MS-Tele experience; prior neuro experience preferred Description: Hiring Process: Candidate will undergo an interview with the clinical team. Travelers are expected to float throughout the designated zone. The floating requirement applies regardless of where housing is obtained. Clinicians must be present for the week of orientation. Travelers cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract. A 2-week notice must be submitted to avoid penalties for backing out. No home base facility is allowed. Travelers must float within the designated zone. Multiple units are included for floating, covering various specialties. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 based on acuity. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Common diagnoses include cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology, and general medicine. Charge nurses are designated on each unit but may take assignments if necessary. Registered Nurses may be expected to titrate drips. There are respiratory therapy equipment and aids available on the unit. Shifts are scheduled 6 weeks in advance, following a set format. Travelers must be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling. Weekend shifts are required, with 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule. May be asked to participate in holiday rotations. Rarely, there may be a call or standby requirement. Unit assignments are communicated prior to the start of shifts. Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of cancellations per contract. Charting system is utilized for patient documentation. No home base facility is allowed for traveling staff. Travelers may also be requested to float to other affiliated facilities within the region. Units may vary in acuity, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele.
