Field Service Technician - New Orlean, LA

$18 - $20 per hour

IT Field Technician

Traveling to two Lowes locations a day, performing hardware/network breakfix, acting as the eyes-ears-face of IT for Lowes

Top two required skills that candidates must have: Communication skills and networking knowledge (CAT6)

Work schedule for this position: M-F 8-5, OT and on-call not required

Overall years of experience required: 2 years minimum professional IT experience

Specific certifications or education needed: CompTIA A+ preferred or will be required within 6 months of employment

Conversion rate for contract to hire: $18-20

Miles per day the contractor will be driving: Varies depending on the day but could be up to 100+ a day (road warrior role)

Exact work location or city, state, zip: Multiple Lowes around the region - ideally 2501 Elysian Fields Ave, New Orleans, LA 70117 as a home store

When candidate review and interviews will start: ASAP

What you'll do:

Provide exceptional customer service
Travel within a radius of 25 to 100+ miles daily in a specific route
Understand AC/DC and backup power concepts
Provide excellent time management and reporting skills
Be familiar with various operating systems (e.g. - Windows OS, OSX, Linux/Unix)
Manage triage, troubleshooting and resolution to client scope on IT equipment
Occasionally works at heights of 20' to 25', lift equipment training provided
Document efforts, issues and resolutions, close cases/tickets daily
Experience desired in copper and fiber cabling and various terminating connectors
Insight to POS, PC, printers, thin clients, AP's, servers, network switch equipment

Who you are:

1 year of IT support work experience
A+ certification preferred or must be obtained within first 3 months of employment
Deskside support experience and 2 years
Desktop break/fix experience and 2 years
Field technician dispatch experience and 2 years
Networking experience and 2 years
