Assignwork orders to welders/fabricators; manage and track so projects are completedon time. Monitorand manage steel and parts inventory. Coordinatein-house fabrication, maintenance or repair projects or tasks within or betweendepartments. Participatein interviewing, hiring and training new employees. Assign new employees toexperienced workers for mentoring/training. Reviewemployee performance and make compensation recommendations. Make otheremployment recommendations as needed. Ensuresafety procedures are adhered Ensureemployees are properly trained to operate equipment Managepreventative maintenance for equipment Repairequipment as necessary. Inspectwork progress, equipment and tools to verify safety or to ensure thatspecifications are met; provide instruction to employees to prevent, detect andcorrect unsafe conditions or violations of procedure and/or safety rules. Expectedto function as a working leader and ability to help in production/fabricationwhen needed. Providesguidance, direction and leadership to ensure that parts are manufactured withthe highest level of quality in a safe and timely manner that will meet orexceed customer expectations Conductsfact-based analysis using lean techniques to create value, eliminates waste anddrives continuous process improvement related to safety, quality, delivery,inventory, and productivity Anyother duty as assigned. Requirements PhysicalRequirements: Regularlyworks near moving mechanical parts and in shop conditions that include heat andhumidity. Occasionally exposed to risk of electric shock. Mustbe able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower backmuscles to provide support over time without fatigue. (Occasionally lift75lbs., frequently lift 50 lbs.) Requiresgood manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limbcoordination. Wearcommon protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves andhearing protection. Mustbe able to quickly move arms and legs. Excellentstamina is required.
