Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Room (ER) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency care and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Type: Nights (12-hour shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirements: Incorporated into the permanent staff rotation

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ER (Emergency Room)
• Trauma Level: Level III
• STEMI and Stroke Receiving: Yes
• Average Patient Volume: 70 patients per day
• Nurse-Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 depending on acuity
• Bed Capacity: 18 beds including 4 critical rooms
• Fast Track: Yes (6 patients)
• Triage Area: Yes, travelers allowed to staff
• Psych/Seclusion Room: 1 room available
• Security: In-house 24/7; rounds conducted in ER

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience required
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC
  • NIHSS
• Must pass the ADVANCED Dysrhythmia exam with a score of 83% (three attempts allowed)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the ER
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and health status
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Utilize standard practices for trauma and emergency care
• Participate in unit orientation and training as needed
• Support and collaborate with physicians and mid-level providers
• Travelers may be asked to precept as required

Additional Information

• Unit-specific orientation will be provided (1-3 shifts based on experience)
• RNs are not responsible for psych patient placements; assistance is available for screening and setup
• Potential for first-time travelers to apply
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy (undershirts must be navy; scrub jackets optional)
