Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Acute Unit

Location Elizabethtown, NY

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule 3 shifts per week, rotating between 12-hour and occasional 8-hour shifts. Candidates are required to work every other weekend and holiday as needed.

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a role in the Medical/Surgical Acute Unit, specializing in medical acute and sub-acute care. The nurse will provide care for patients with chronic disease exacerbations, acute infections, and varying acuities.

Responsibilities Administer medications and provide patient care for acute and chronic conditions. Perform IV therapy, EKGs, and telemetry interpretation. Manage respiratory treatments and care for COVID-19 patients. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Current NY State RN license. Minimum of 1 year clinical experience, including at least 1 year in telemetry. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start. Previous travel nursing experience and charge nurse experience required. Experience with Epic EMR within the last 2 years is mandatory.
