This position supports testing of new product development, sustainability, quality improvement projects, and agency compliance. This role is responsible for tests in the Lab that produce qualifying performance & safety data on Trane Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning products and components. The job requires problem solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other lab and engineering team members to ensure timely completion of projects. This position is salaried non-exempt.Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and proceduresSupport product development activities by operating commercial HVAC controls, electronics test facilities, and collecting experimental test data with modest guidance from senior laboratory staffProvide end-to-end concept and validation electronics testing including planning, instrumentation, data acquisition setup, and testing in accordance with approved test plan and agency standards with guidance from Test Engineer or Senior Technician for Trane commercial HVAC productsDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair of Trane commercial HVAC technologies, controls, and electronics componentsDrive for continuous improvement in job performance and laboratory proceduresMinimum Qualifications:Associate's Degree in Electronics or Electromechanical Technologies is required; OR an equivalent combination of formal education and training is required.At least 5-years of work experience in an Electronics or Electromechanical related field is required.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) requiredStrong grasp of electronics principles and troubleshooting is preferredKey Competencies:A working knowledge of measurement and control equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, etc.), data acquisition, and communicationsDemonstrates basic to advanced knowledge on measuring/inspection instruments, mechanical and electrical components, and their principles, properties, and theoriesProficient understanding and experience in reading and interpreting schematics, engineering drawings, technical reports, safety rules, and operation/maintenance instructionsAbility to understand and follow current work instructions and applicable test standardsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization existsStrong verbal and written communication skills in order to listen and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organizationAbility to multitask while working efficiently in a fast-paced team environmentAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:$40,000.00 - $74,340.00Compensation Type:Exception HourlyIncentive Eligible:NoSales Commission Eligible:NoThrive at work and at home:Benefits kick in on DAY ONE for you and your family, including health insurance and holistic wellness programs that include generous incentives – WE DARE TO CARE!Family building benefits include fertility coverage and adoption/surrogacy assistance.Paid time off includes up to 15 vacation days, paid holidays, sick leave, and additional options to support volunteer and parental leave.401K match up, educational and training opportunities through company programs along with tuition assistance and student debt support.Safety Sensitive Role:YesThe company designates certain roles as Safety Sensitive.
