School Nurse/Health Associate

$32/Hour + Full Benefits + Weekly Pay | West Apple Valley, MN | Full School Year Contract

We are seeking a dedicated School Nurse (LPN, LVN) / Health Associate to provide health services and support for students receiving special education services throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Overview

As a School Nurse/Health Associate, you will provide direct student healthcare services while working under the supervision of a licensed school nurse. This role is ideal for compassionate nursing professionals who enjoy working with children and helping students thrive in a safe, supportive educational environment.

You will be responsible for implementing student health plans, providing one-on-one care, administering medications, maintaining health records, and supporting students with specialized healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one healthcare support to students receiving special education services
• Implement and monitor emergency healthcare plans
• Assist students with personal care and instructional support needs
• Administer and document medications according to school policy under the supervision of a licensed school nurse
• Receive and carry out verbal and written physician orders
• Monitor, document, and report student health concerns to the supervising school nurse
• Maintain student health records, immunization documentation, and third-party billing information
• Support medical assistance reimbursement processes for personal care services
• Promote a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment
• Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current LPN, LVN license in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Current health certificate (per contract or state requirements)
• PPD or chest X-ray if applicable
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred:

• One year of professional nursing experience
• Previous school-based, pediatric, or special education experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to participate in two-to-three-person lifts involving adult-size body weight when necessary
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and lean throughout the workday
