Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior SAP QM Master Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in SAP Quality Management (QM) master data management to support quality processes, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating and maintaining inspection plans, Master Inspection Characteristics (MICs), sampling procedures, and QM-related material master data.

Experience with SAP Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) master data and SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable. The successful candidate will collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Product Stewardship, IT, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Procurement teams to maintain accurate master data, resolve system issues, and improve data governance in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, update, maintain, and govern SAP QM master data, including inspection plans, Master Inspection Characteristics (MICs), sampling procedures, calibration procedures, and QM material master fields.
• Maintain SAP EHS master data, including substance data (SUBID), identifiers (IDENT), material assignments (MATNR), phrase catalogs, EHS phrases, and physical-chemical properties used in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels.
• Manage the creation, modification, and archival of EHS Substance and Specification (SAF) master data objects.
• Upload, validate, and maintain SAP EHS regulatory content packages and generate WWI symbols for SDS documents, labels, and other EHS reports.
• Ensure master data supports compliant inspection lot creation, traceability, sampling logic, testing requirements, and integration with other functional areas, including PTS and EWM.
• Oversee Agile and SAP interfaces and master data changes, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approval oversight.
• Conduct routine QM and EHS master data audits, identify root causes of data issues, and implement corrective actions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Troubleshoot inspection lot creation issues, sampling logic, change management, usage decision workflows, and other QM process inconsistencies.
• Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and material launches by maintaining accurate and compliant QM and EHS master data.
• Analyze inspection and regulatory data, review defect trends, optimize inspection strategies, and support KPI reporting.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Product Stewardship, IT, and Procurement teams to improve business processes and master data governance.
• Support SAP S/4HANA QM and EHS improvement initiatives and standardize master data management procedures.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for SAP consultants and other IT-related communications.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of solid experience managing SAP QM master data or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on experience with SAP QM master data, including inspection plans, Master Inspection Characteristics (MICs), sampling procedures, and QM views of the material master.
• Demonstrated experience managing QM master data for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods throughout development, launch, and ongoing maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot QM workflows, including inspection lot creation, sampling logic, change management, and usage decision processes.
• Experience analyzing system workflows, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting cross-functional master data changes.
• Experience working with quality, regulatory, manufacturing, stewardship, or procurement functions.
• Familiarity with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, documentation discipline, and the ability to manage large volumes of data.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate master data requirements and corrective actions across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA QM and EHS functionality.
• Hands-on SAP EHS master data experience, including Substance and Specification (SAF) data and regulatory content.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, excipient, or healthcare manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485.
• Familiarity with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring, hazard communication requirements, and chemical regulatory frameworks.
• SAP QM training or coursework.
