About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President of Legal with a strong commercial focus to lead its global legal function. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and executing legal strategy in alignment with business priorities, acting as the chief legal advisor to the executive team on a wide range of legal matters, and leading a high-performing in-house legal team. This role requires a leader who can proactively manage global commercial contracting, including the negotiation and closing of various agreements across multiple jurisdictions. The SVP of Legal will also be involved in M&A activities, corporate governance, and ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations. Applicants must have a law degree and be admitted to practice in relevant jurisdictions, with at least 15 years' of legal experience, including a significant tenure in a senior in-house legal leadership role within a technology or subscription-based company. The role demands a professional with a proven track record in global commercial contract negotiations, strong M&A experience, and the ability to advise on legal risk and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data privacy and security regulations, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial pragmatism in a fast-growth environment. Experience in geospatial, imagery, mapping, or B2B SaaS platform companies is preferred, as is a background in company secretarial or governance within a private equity-backed or investor-owned company.
