In each of our regions, we are the best in radiology, offering all radiology services!Job SummaryUnder general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Computerized Tomography Technologist will perform all required diagnostic computerized axial tomography (CAT) scanning procedures with knowledge of all pertinent technical and academic areas to produce consistent, high-quality examinations.Essential Functions of a CT TechnologistPerforms all required diagnostic CT exams in a timely manner.Positions patients for exams, ensuring comfortable and accurate positioning.Assembles the X-ray film, CT scans, and other necessary diagnostic information in its proper order for the physician's interpretation.Monitors the condition of patients in the department and assists the radiologist or other physicians in performing needed medical attention.Performs clerical work related to the obtaining of previous reports, X-ray films, etc.Maintains scanning equipment and ensure room is properly cleaned.Assures that all exams include accurate clinical and demographic information and high quality, complete images.Reports any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to the responsible supervisor.Work as part of a team to assist radiologists, fellow technologists and office staff as neededRequired Skills/AbilitiesPossesses a skilled level and working knowledge of CT scanning technology.Competency in instructing fellow CT Technologists in the art of scanning.Ability to communicate with radiologists and other healthcare providers about images and patient care.Demonstrates skill and knowledge to identify abnormalities while performing CT scans.Initiative to obtain additional scans, views, or extremely technical factors to provide maximum information for the radiologist to make an accurate diagnosis.Maintain sensitivity to physical and psychological needs of patientsMaintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA guidelines.Education and ExperienceARRT CertificationCPR/ BLS CertificationMinimum 2 years experience preferredPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.Work generally does not involve occupational risk; however, failure to follow established procedures and safety practices could result in minor injury, e.g., minor cuts, needle punctures, bruises from falls on slippery floors, or back injuries sustained while assisting in moving, lifting, or positioning patients, equipment, or materials.What We OfferPTO for full-time employees6 Observed HolidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, Life and other voluntary insurances401(k) Retirement PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkPart-Time, 3 days per weekOnsiteSome weekends required as needed
