Job Description:
Bon Secours - Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center is seeking a qualified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to provide locum coverage on an as-needed basis. This position involves hospital-based rounding, managing adult patients requiring complex cardiothoracic procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, arterial revascularization, redo coronary revascularization, pericardial window, and heart valve repair/replacement surgeries. The coverage is scheduled for specific dates throughout the year, with an estimated 30-day credentialing timeframe, considering emergency privileging when necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience with the procedures listed and be comfortable working within an EPIC documentation system, supporting a team of three PAs and collaborating with a high-volume surgical department.

• Open coverage dates as follows:
  • July 9 (7am) to July 16 (7am)
  • July 29 (7am) to August 5 (7am)
  • August 20 (7am) to August 27 (7am)
  • September 11 (7am) to September 16 (7am)
  • September 28 (7am) to October 2 (7am)
  • October 26 (7am) to November 4 (7am)
  • December 16 (7am) to December 23 (7am)

Requirements:

• Board certification or eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Experience with CABG, arterial revascularization, redo surgeries, heart valve repair/replacement, and mitral valve procedures
• Ability to handle 24-hour call shifts with a call ratio of 10-14 days per month
• Competency with EPIC electronic medical records
