IT Director - Enterprise Architecture

Zimmer Biomet seeks an IT Director of Enterprise Architecture to lead global architecture strategy, governance, and modernization initiatives across a complex medical technology organization. The role involves advancing enterprise architecture maturity, facilitating governance forums, and partnering with business and IT leaders to drive technology alignment and organizational transformation.
Responsibilities
- Lead maturation of global Enterprise Architecture function including principles, standards, and governance practices
- Organize and facilitate Enterprise Architecture Resource Board and Council to align technology decisions with business priorities
- Partner with business, IT, cybersecurity, and infrastructure leaders to translate strategy into architectural direction and roadmaps
- Evaluate emerging technologies and modernization opportunities; communicate architectural risks, technical debt, and simplification opportunities
- Mentor architects and technical leaders; build global architecture capability and community maturity
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 10+ years professional experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy, or solution architecture
- Senior-level experience leading enterprise architecture in complex, global, matrixed organizations
- Expertise in architecture frameworks, governance models, standards, and roadmap development
- Proven ability to establish and lead architecture review boards or governance councils
- Strong business acumen with understanding of budgets, portfolio trade-offs, and value measurement
- Master's degree and TOGAF certification preferred
