About the Role We are seeking motivated second and third-year law student(s) to join our team as Summer Law Clerks. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic legal environment where clerks will work closely with experienced attorneys on substantive legal matters. Responsibilities Conducting legal research on complex issues Drafting memoranda and legal documents Assisting in the preparation of briefs and motions Drafting demand letters and correspondence Attending and assisting with depositions Observing and participating in court proceedings and trials Supporting case preparation and discovery activities Collaborating with attorneys on case strategy and analysis Qualifications Required Currently enrolled as a rising second or third-year law student at an ABA-accredited law Strong academic record Excellent legal research and writing skills Demonstrated ability to analyze complex legal issues Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Professional communication and interpersonal abilities Commitment to working on-site in Columbus, Ohio Preferred Prior legal internship or work experience Law review, moot court, or clinic participation Application Requirements Interested candidates must submit: Cover letter detailing interest in the position and relevant experience Law school transcript (official or unofficial) List of three professional or academic references Cooper Elliott is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
