Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM; 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available (13-26 week assignments); four weekend shifts per four-week period; holiday coverage required; float as needed

Highlights:

• Diverse cardiac patient population including post-surgical cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams
• EPIC charting system with 24-hour orientation provided
• Exposure to advanced cardiac procedures including TAVR, Watchman, and post-catheterization care
• 44-bed telemetry unit with full range of cardiac monitoring equipment and specialized devices
• Contract lengths from 13-26 weeks available

Requirements:

• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/Step-down experience strongly preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Willingness to work as part of storm team/hurricane team during catastrophic events
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Patient Population & Clinical Focus:

• Adult and geriatric patients with cardiac diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, endocarditis, and cardiomyopathy
• Post-operative care for CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO, carotid endarterectomy, and vascular surgeries
• Post-procedure monitoring for cardiac catheterization, cardioversion, electrophysiology, and pacemaker placement
• Management of cardiac drips, dysrhythmias, and sheath removal

Special Equipment & Skills:

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Femoral sheaths, TR bands, Fem-stop devices for arterial access management
• Chest tube management, epicardial pacing wires
• EKG, Doppler, bladder scanner
• Arterial line experience preferred
