Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM

20 hours/week during school year (September-June)

30-35 hours/week summers (June-August)

COMPENSATION

$25-32/hour (based on experience & qualifications)

Estimated annual: $29,000-34,500

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a part-time nanny for a 12-year-old who benefits from structure, routine, and positive reinforcement. This is an excellent position for education or nursing students—it's real, hands-on caregiving work that builds your resume and skills.

You'll handle:

• After-school care and activity transportation (Mon-Fri, 2:30-6:30 PM)

• Homework support and daily routine management

• Scaffolding life skills—helping her build independence, NOT doing tasks for her

• Daily communication with parents about her day and progress

• Supporting her development through structured, positive approaches

This is NOT babysitting or a hands-off role. We're looking for someone who actively engages, communicates, and helps her grow.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

MUST-HAVES:

✓ 2+ years of childcare or youth care experience

✓ Reliable personal vehicle & clean driving record (school pickup + activity transport required)

✓ CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to get certified immediately)

✓ No cat allergies (we have 4 cats in the home)

✓ Comfortable with structured, routine-based caregiving

✓ Willingness to scaffold skills vs. doing tasks for her

✓ Strong communication skills & daily parent handoff

✓ Calm, patient, positive temperament

✓ Commitment to long-term placement (school year minimum)

PREFERRED:

• Special education background or coursework

• Early childhood education (ECE) certification

• Pre-teen or school-age care experience

• Background in education, psychology, or social work

• Homework tutoring experience

IMPORTANT: FAMILY DISCLOSURES

Our family is open about two things—please be comfortable with both:

1. We legally cultivate cannabis in our outdoor garden

2. One parent works in clinical nursing and brings that perspective home

These are not negotiable. If you have concerns, this role isn't the right fit.

NOT A FIT IF:

✗ You're uncomfortable with either family disclosure

✗ You have less than 2 years caregiving experience

✗ You don't have reliable transportation

✗ You're looking for a hands-off, minimal-engagement role

✗ You prefer short-term babysitting gigs

WHAT YOU'LL GET:

• W-2 payroll (not 1099)

• Consistent 20 hrs/week during school year
