Digital Advertising and Analytics Specialist

1. WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We're looking for a technically skilled Digital Advertising & Analytics Specialist to help manage, optimize, and measure digital marketing campaigns for our clients. This is a hands-on execution role for someone who enjoys the technical side of digital marketing: building campaigns, managing advertising platforms, configuring tracking, troubleshooting problems, and using data to improve performance. You'll work closely with our strategy and creative team to turn marketing plans into well-executed campaigns. We're looking for someone who can take direction, work independently, and take ownership of the technical details that make digital marketing effective. The position will begin as a part-time remote contractor role, approximately 5-10 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours and responsibilities as our agency grows.

2. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

A. DIGITAL ADVERTISING

• Build, launch, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns, including Search, Display, and remarketing.
• Build and manage Meta advertising campaigns across Facebook and Instagram.
• Configure campaign objectives, audience targeting, budgets, bidding strategies, and conversion goals.
• Monitor campaign performance and make ongoing adjustments to improve results.
• Conduct keyword research, analyze search terms, and identify opportunities to improve advertising efficiency.
• Troubleshoot disapproved ads, tracking issues, account configurations, and other technical problems.
• Implement campaigns using creative assets and strategic direction provided by the team.

B. ANALYTICS & CONVERSION TRACKING

• Set up, configure, and maintain Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager, Google Ads conversion tracking, and Meta Pixel.
• Configure and test conversion events, form submissions, and other key website interactions.
• Implement UTM tracking and maintain consistent campaign attribution.
• Identify and resolve tracking discrepancies, broken events, and data quality issues.
• Build and maintain reporting dashboards using Looker Studio or similar tools.
• Prepare clear, accurate performance reports with actionable observations.

C. TECHNICAL MARKETING SUPPORT

• Assist with connecting websites, landing pages, forms, and CRM or email marketing platforms to advertising and analytics systems.
• Troubleshoot integrations between digital marketing tools.
• Help develop repeatable processes, documentation, and quality-control checklists.
• Research new advertising and analytics capabilities and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and account managers to ensure campaigns are implemented correctly and on schedule.

3. SKILL REQUIREMENTS

A. HARD SKILLS

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in digital advertising and analytics, preferably in an agency environment.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns (essential).
• Strong working knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager, and conversion tracking (essential).
• Ability to independently configure, launch, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot campaigns.
• Familiarity with campaign attribution, UTM parameters, and performance metrics such as CPC, CTR, CPA, and ROAS.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Google Sheets.
• Ability to interpret campaign data and identify practical optimization opportunities.
• Familiarity with Looker Studio or comparable reporting tools.
• Basic knowledge of website structure, landing pages, and HTML/CSS (preferred).
• Comfortable working with Google Workspace, Asana, and AI tools such as ChatGPT.

4. COMPENSATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT

• Hourly Rate: $28-$38/hour, based on experience and demonstrated technical proficiency.
• Position Level: Midlevel, competent independent specialist.
• Employment Type: Part-time independent contractor (1099).
• Expected Hours: Approximately 5-10 hours per week initially.
