Receptionist - Part-time

The Churches of St. Michael & St. Mary in Stillwater, MN are seeking a welcoming and conscientious CGS Receptionist to join the Faith Formation Team. Job Purpose This role ensures a safe environment for children and volunteers during the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) sessions, manages building access, and provides general administrative support. This is a part-time 9 hours per week position working only on days that CGS is in session. This role is non-exempt and the schedule would be primarily Wednesday 3:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. and Thursday 9:30a.m. - 12:30p.m. Statement on Working for the Catholic Church Employment in and by the Church is substantially different from secular employment. Representative Responsibilities The responsibilities listed below are representative responsibilities intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by an employee assigned to this position. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities of this position. Serve as the primary point of contact at the front desk monitoring building access and screening visitors. Manage the volunteer and visitor check-in process and issue proper identification to all guests. Oversee hallways, entryways and common areas during CGS sessions, assisting children who are ill or need restroom assistance. Ensure all exterior doors are secure during sessions and assist with emergency preparedness procedures if required. Answer incoming phone calls, take messages and direct questions regarding CGS and general parish inquiries to the appropriate staff. Handle light clerical work. Assist with tracking attendance and distributing information to parents. Assist in organizing the atria or light restocking at the end of shifts as needed. Safe Environment Complete the background check process every 3 years. Review Code of Conduct for Church Personnel annually. Sign Code of Conduct for Church Personnel every 3 years. Complete VIRTUS Safe Environment Training every 3 years. Be a mandatory reporter for any suspected child abuse.
