Ensures enforcement of state and federal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Monitors grant expenditures and revenues for federal reporting and assists in the federal drawdown of funds. Reconcile the grant fiscal expenditures with the federal revenue received as reimbursement for state funds expended.Prepare Federal Financial Reports for all assigned grants.Process travel expense vouchers for the Agency.QualificationsPreference will be given to candidates with working knowledge in the Wyoming Online Financial System (WOLFS).Knowledge:Must be familiar with Governmental Accounting, GAAP, GASB, and governmental budget process.Knowledge and skills in fund accounting including auditing practices, knowledge of State and Federal laws, rules, regulations and statutes, knowledge of grant management.Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.Skill in financial review and development of periodic reports, excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing circumstances.Knowledge of the state accounting (WOLFS) system.Ability to gather data and review analytically to answer questions and resolve problems; ability to handle several projects or tasks at once and meet deadlines; attention to detail; organize and follow a task through to completion with little supervision.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)Experience: 0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior Accountant OR 4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Senior AccountantCertificates, Licenses, Registrations: NoneNecessary Special RequirementsPhysical Working Conditions:The employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.Notes:FLSA: ExemptThe Wyoming Department of Health is an E-Verify employer.Supplemental InformationClick here to view the State of Wyoming Total Compensation Calculator.
