Oversees the financial reporting and analysis of Statutory and IFRS financial statements for MSIG USA and MSIGH companies. Leads, financial reporting controls, and the assessment and implementation of new products, processes, and systems. Provides enterprise-wide leadership across the Finance function, partners with senior leadership on business strategy and organizational priorities, and develops high-performing teams and future leaders. Demonstrates the strategic perspective, judgment, executive presence, and leadership breadth to assume increasingly broad enterprise responsibilities over time.

Essential Functions

• Lead, develop, and manage the Statutory and Corporate Accounting functions.

• Direct the preparation of premium taxes, surcharges, and assessments, and collaborate with IT and operational teams on data requirements.

• Oversee Statutory financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting, including reporting with the NAIC.

• Review financial statements, analytical reports, reconciliations, and controls to ensure fair and complete presentation of financial results.

• Monitor regulatory changes, assess their financial impact, and keep the Chief Financial Officer informed.

• Participate in quarterly loss reserve reviews and provide analysis supporting Reserve Committee recommendations regarding IBNR loss reserves.

• Oversee quarterly IFRS financial statement preparation and analyze individual company and consolidated results before executive review.

• Coordinate Accounting and assist with Treasury activities supporting consolidated financial reporting to Tokyo Head Office.

• Direct the development, documentation, and maintenance of financial reporting controls and ensure that Audit Board is updated timely for any changes with respect to financial controls.

• Coordinate with external auditors, actuaries, insurance examiners; to address findings, remediate issues, and elevate significant matters to senior management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Leads and manages the Corporate and Statutory Accounting teams, with responsibility for organizational structure, staffing, and team capability aligned with evolving business needs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including hiring, training, directing work, performance management, employee development, and resolving workplace concerns.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a property and casualty insurance environment.

• At least 5 years of experience in a management or officer role. gSkbilities

• Strong understanding of accounting theory and practice, including Statutory and IFRS reporting.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and regulatory guidance.

• Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, boards, regulators, auditors, and other key stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, reasoning, statistical, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build alignment across functions, and make sound decisions in complex and evolving situations.

• Enterprise mindset, strong business acumen, executive presence, and the ability to translate strategy into results.

• Proven ability to develop leaders, build succession depth, lead change, and assume broader organizational responsibilities as business needs evolve.

• Strong organizational, motivational, interpersonal, presentation, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and use standard spreadsheet and word-processing applications; knowledge of WorkDay is beneficial. Qualifications
