Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience License: Current RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS required Must-Have: - Experience in management of dysrhythmias - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Comfortable with flexible staffing ratios Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry. This role requires working rotating shifts, including both days and nights. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting. First-time travelers are accepted as long as they meet the experience requirements. Weekend coverage is required based on unit needs. Candidates must be willing to float to other inpatient acute care units within the facility. The unit is staffed with 30 beds and the daily census is approximately 30 patients. Patient-to-nurse ratios may vary between 1:5 during the day shifts and 1:6 during night shifts. Nurses will provide care for a variety of patient diagnoses, including respiratory illnesses and withdrawal symptoms. The unit has interdisciplinary support from IV teams, respiratory services, and physical therapy, among others. Nurses are expected to be familiar with the use of electronic health records for charting. Additional procedures may include bedside thoracentesis, paracentesis, and bladder irrigation. Candidates will need skills in oxygen administration, rapid response team protocols, and peripheral line care. Travelers are also required to complete all facility-specific training modules upon starting. This position offers the opportunity to work within a diverse patient population.
