Board Certified Behavior Analyst

The District-wide BCBA Consultant will provide development and direct supervision of ABA programming as well as other behavioral programs in the district for a total of 40 hours in preschool through high school as needed. In addition, the BCBA will provide direct service and consultation to staff members for students with challenging behaviors. Services may include: functional behavioral assessment, behavior plan development, development of individualized skill building curricula, staff and parent training, and consultation to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities may include:

• Evaluate the effectiveness of behavior plans and make modifications when necessary.
• Work closely with administrators, related service providers, special education teachers, general education teachers, and paraprofessionals to ensure that the programming needs of students are being met.
• Provide training and consultation to parents, students, and teachers.
• Identify factors in the environment or behaviors that lead to patterns in behavior.
• Assess the needs of the student, set goals and make behavior plans for teaching these skills and reinforcing new behaviors as they are learned.
• Demonstrate successful track record of working independently while taking on increased or diverse responsibilities.
• Ensure completion of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Promote programs to enhance and increase students' independence.
• Participate in and model the delivery of routine, daily behavior management of students and assume the lead role in behavior crisis management as needed.
• Collect, record, interpret, and monitor data on student behaviors and progress on behavior programming.
• Participate with the school social workers and school psychologists to build capacity in collecting data for Functional Behavioral Assessment and Behavior Intervention.
• Develop and provide professional development for staff.
• Work closely with district wide programs to develop individualized programs for students and to ensure that all programs are being delivered with fidelity.
• Strong understanding of the PPT process and the ability to be a team player.
• Provide required supervision to district Behavior Interventionists, RBTs, and RBTs in training.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services and/or the Supervisors of Special Education.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a Master's degree in Psychology/Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or related field.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children with special needs.
• Experience in ABA, Verbal Behavior, and VB MAPP assessment strongly preferred.
• Experience in program coordination and evaluation preferred.
• Experience working with students who have developmental disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or emotional/behavioral disorders across grade levels.
• Qualified to conduct appropriate screenings and assessments, including FBAs.
• Understanding of Picture Exchange Communication Systems (PECS) and data collection.
• Written language, technology skill and interpersonal communication skills to support communication/collaboration among team members, with professional and community contacts, school staff and parents.
• Familiarity with curriculum development and content area knowledge base and facility with modifying curriculum.
• Strong organization, communication and leadership abilities and legal knowledge.
• Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Salary and terms of employment: 11-month work year (186 plus 20 additional work days, including the four-week summer program); Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
