Position Summary: Reporting to the Associate Dean, Student Services, the Mental Health Counselor is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating the mental health needs of Valley COM students. Duties include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individual treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and managing referrals for psychiatric care and medication management. The counselor will also be expected to provide crisis intervention as needed. This individual will serve as a member of the "COMPass Team" and participate in delivery of general wellness activities. What You’ll Do: Support the institution's mission through direct student mental health care Develop and deliver curriculum-linked wellness content as needed Provide student support services and mentorship Collaborate with the "COMPass Team" and broader student services staff Support accreditation, quality, and compliance standards Contribute to strategic planning around student wellness Take on general responsibilities as the role and department evolve Qualifications: Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field Licensed in Arizona as a Mental Health Counselor, Professional Counselor, or equivalent Hold a license free from disciplinary action #J-18808-Ljbffr The Valley College of Osteopathic Medicine
