The position requires experience in BMT Oncology and chemotherapy. Candidates must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Floating to various units within the Oncology department is required. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1 for all shifts. The unit has an average daily census of 30 patients. Every other weekend is required. Auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration will be part of the duties. Certification from ONS/ONCC and active ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Candidates must pass the Relias EKG exam. We will accept first-time travelers with the required experience. The role involves managing various complications arising from blood cancers. Specifically, candidates must be familiar with Graft-versus-host disease and management of acute tumor lysis syndrome. Additional responsibilities include administering blood and blood products, managing Foley catheters, and following isolation precautions. Support from interdisciplinary teams is available, including respiratory services and pharmacy. The candidate must exhibit a strong understanding of managing side effects related to chemotherapy and recognize abnormal lab values. We are looking for a nurse with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
